Getting Here
West Alameda enjoys a variety of ways to welcome residents, shoppers, employees, and visitors to explore the area. Parking is free and plentiful at Alameda Landing, Ballena Bay, and Alameda Point. Webster Street Historic District offers a parking lot as well as on-street parking.
The newly opened Cross Alameda Trail (CAT) flanks the north side of the district and will ultimately connect cyclists from the Fruitvale bridge to the Main Street Ferry terminal. Bicycle lockers and stands are conveniently located adjacent to the CAT at Webster & Ralph Appezzatto Memorial Parkway.
AC Transit offers seven different bus lines through West Alameda providing quick connections to Downtown Oakland and the 12th street BART station.
PARKING
The City of Alameda operates a surface parking lots in the Webster Street district, along with street parking in front of the businesses. Hourly fees for all meters are in effect Monday - Saturday, 9:00am - 6:00pm. You can use coins or your credit card at the meters.
Lot W (Alameda West End Lot) is between Haight and Santa Clara behind Wescafe, Phnom Penh, Feathered Outlaw, Ala Mediterranean, and Cafe Jolie [get map here]. The lot is accessible from both Haight Street and Santa Clara Avenue. The lot has metered parking spots and two reserved spots for car-sharing services by Getaround. On Tuesdays and Saturdays, permit parking only is allowed during the Webster Farmers Market between 9 AM and 1 PM.
BICYCLE LOCKERS
The City has 12 electronic bike locker spaces installed at Webster and Atlantic, on the College of Alameda corner. These lockers were funded with a Transportation Fund for Clean Air grant. BikeLink cards can be purchased at bikelink.org and can be used at any BikeLink locker located throughout the Bay Area.
BUS TRANSIT
AC Transit serves West Alameda via the O, W, 19, 20, 51A, 96, and 663 bus lines. These move in and out of Alameda and connect to the BART stations at 12th Street Downtown Oakland and Fruitvale, Oakland.
